Our Story

Three Generations.
One Standard.

Since 1946, Texas Nameplate Company has built its name on a single promise: every plate that leaves our floor meets the standard that earned us two Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards. We're a family business doing exacting work for the industries that can't afford a part that fails.

Eighty years of getting the small things exactly right.

A nameplate is a small part with an outsized job — it has to stay legible and intact long after the equipment around it has been through heat, chemicals, weather, and years of service. That's the work we've done since 1946.

We're still owned and run by the family that started it. The same people who answer the phone walk the floor and stand behind every order — and that accountability is exactly what two Baldrige Awards recognized.

Our History

Eight Decades, One Family

The milestones that shaped Texas Nameplate Company.

1946

Texas Nameplate Company is founded in Dallas, Texas by Roy Crownover and two partners.

1969

Roy Crownover buys out his partners and becomes sole owner, beginning the Crownover family stewardship that continues today.

1998

Awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award — the nation's highest Presidential honor for performance excellence, and one of the smallest companies ever to receive it.

2004

Awarded a second Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award — a rare two-time distinction.

2017

Built and moved into a new state-of-the-art facility in Lancaster, Texas — designed for advanced manufacturing, expanded capacity, and continued innovation.

Today

Three generations in. Ongoing investment in advanced equipment and a custom-built ERP system continue to drive precision, speed, and quality across every order.

Next

A planned 20,000 sq ft expansion of the Lancaster facility is under consideration — the next chapter in TNC's growth.

Some of that history is still here — the machines, the awards, and the paperwork behind eight decades of work.
